Add a New Share Type

Create custom share classes beyond the default Ordinary/Common shares to structure your company's equity exactly how you need it.

Before issuing shares in a new share class other than Ordinary/Common, you'll need to create the share class first.

To add a new share type:

  1. Go to Ownership from the main menu

  2. Select Share classes from the dropdown menu

  3. Click the + Add button in the top right corner

  4. Complete the share class details:

    • Share class code (4 characters maximum)

    • Full name of the share class

    • Authorized shares (US companies only) - Enter the number of authorized shares for this class

    • Toggle Voting rights on or off for this class

    • Toggle Dividend payouts on or off for this class

  5. Click Add Share type to save

You'll see your new share class appear in the Share classes overview.

Once created, you can select this share class when issuing shares, converting between share classes, starting fundraising rounds, or setting up option plans.
