Attach Previously Issued Share Certificates

Already issued share certificates outside Cake? Upload and link them to keep your records consolidated. Shareholders will be able to access linked certificates in their My Cake portal.

Neither upload method sends an email notification, it simply links the certificate to the shareholder's profile.

  1. Go to Documents → All documents.

  2. Open the Share Certificates folder (created automatically when you issue your first certificate in Cake).

  3. Click Upload in the top left corner.

  4. Upload your certificate files, drag and drop, browse files, or browse folders.

  5. Once uploaded, click More on each certificate and select Share.

  6. Search for the shareholder and click Add to share to link the certificate to their profile.

Method 2: Upload directly to the shareholder's profile

  1. Go to Cap Table and select the Shareholders tab.

  2. Click the shareholder's name to open their profile.

  3. Scroll to the Documents section.

  4. Click + Attach file and upload the certificate.

This links the certificate directly to the shareholder and makes it available in their My Cake portal. Documents uploaded via Method 2 will be saved in the General folder, which can be managed via Documents → All documents.

What happens next

Linked certificates appear in the shareholder's Documents section in My Cake. You can organise uploaded certificates into folders via Documents → All documents at any time.
