Edit Option Grants After Issuance
You can edit certain terms on option grants after they have been issued, for example, to correct a strike price, adjust a grant date, or update expiration terms. Changes apply to Cake records only and do not automatically update signed legal documents.
Note: Always ensure any changes you make in Cake match your signed legal agreements.
Edit a single grant
Go to Plans → Options and click View pool for the relevant plan.
Find the grant and click Offer actions.
Select the field you want to edit:
Vesting start date: changes when vesting begins, including cliff recalculation
Vesting schedule: changes the timing of the vesting conditions
Strike price: updates the price per share to exercise
Grant date: modifies the grant date (does not affect vesting)
Option expiration: adjusts when unexercised options expire
Post termination exercise period: update the time after termination that employees must exercise vested options
Review the warning about tax and legal implications, check the acknowledgment box, and click Proceed.
Update the relevant fields and click Apply changes.
Bulk edit multiple grants
Go to Plans → Options → View pool.
Tick the checkboxes next to the grants you want to edit.
Click Bulk actions and select Bulk edit.
Choose the field to edit across all selected grants:
Strike price
Grant date
Option expiration
Post termination exercise period
Make your changes, acknowledge the warning, and click Apply changes.
Note: Vesting start date & Vesting schedule can only be edited on individual grants, not in bulk.
What happens next
Changes take effect immediately in Cake. All edits are recorded in the audit log. Existing signed contracts are not modified, consult legal and update those separately if needed.

The price field is labelled Exercise price rather than Strike price.
