What you can edit

The following fields can be edited on most transactions:

  • Date: the transaction date

  • Number of shares: quantity issued or transferred

  • Investment amount: the total purchase price

Share class cannot be edited. If the share class is wrong, delete the transaction and recreate it with the correct class.

Transactions that cannot be edited

The following transaction types are not directly editable, delete and recreate if a correction is needed:

  • Share splits

  • Share class conversions

  • Shares issued from option exercises

  • Shares from SAFE or convertible note conversions

Edit a transaction, via Transaction logs

  1. Go to Cap Table → Transaction logs.

  2. Find the transaction and click the three dots (⋯) on the right.

  3. Select Edit transaction.

  4. Update the date, number of shares, or amount paid.

  5. Click Edit to save.

Edit a transaction, via Shareholders

  1. Go to Cap Table and select the Shareholders tab.

  2. Click the shareholder's name.

  3. Scroll to Transaction history and click the three dots (⋯) next to the transaction.

  4. Select Edit transaction, make your changes, and click Edit to save.

Delete a transaction

  1. Follow the same steps as editing above, but select Delete transaction instead.

  2. Confirm the deletion.

Note: Deleting a transaction is permanent and immediately updates the cap table. Use this when an entry is incorrect and needs to be fully removed, then recreate it with the correct details.
