Enable Employee Exercise Requests
Exercise requests let employees initiate the exercise process themselves from their My Cake portal, rather than requiring admin to process every exercise manually. Once set up, admins receive requests for review and approval before any shares are issued.
Set up exercise requests
Go to Plans → Exercise requests from the left navigation.
Click Exercise settings in the centre of the screen.
Select the company users who are authorised to approve exercise requests.
Add the company bank account details that will receive payment transfer from your stakeholders.
Select your Exercise Notice from Cake's free template (if available in region) or add your own
Click Next to save your settings.
What happens next
Once enabled, employees can log into their My Cake portal and submit an exercise request for their vested options. Approvers are notified and can review the request, approve or decline it, and process the exercise including facilitating the execution of the Exercise Notice, all within Cake.
If exercise requests have not been set up, employees cannot submit exercise requests and admins must process exercises manually. See Exercise Stock Options for Employees for the manual flow.
