How to Request a Shareholder Name Change on Investment Certificates
If the name on your share certificate is incorrect or needs updating, for example, after a legal name change, the company must update their records and reissue the certificate. Cake cannot make this change on their behalf.
How to request a name change
Contact the company you've invested in and request the update. Provide:
Your current name as it appears on the certificate
Your correct legal name
Supporting documentation if required (e.g. change of name certificate, marriage certificate)
The company admin will update your stakeholder details in their Cake account and reissue your share certificate with the correct name.
After the update
Once the company has reissued the certificate, it will appear in your Documents section in My Cake. Download the new certificate and retain the previous version for your records if needed.
