How to Request to Exercise Your Options
You can submit a request to your employer directly through My Cake.
Before you start
You'll need:
Vested options that are eligible for exercise
Your employer to have enabled the Exercise Requests feature in their Cake account
If you don't see the Request exercise button after following the steps below, contact your employer, they may need to enable this feature.
Submit your exercise request
Log in at app.cakeequity.com/portal.
Click Portfolio in the main menu.
Find your option grant and click View.
Click Request exercise.
Enter the number of options you want to exercise and the Tax to wihtold if applicabel.
Review the details and Send request.
Your employer will receive the request and contact you to complete the exercise process.
After submitting
Once your employer has reviewed and approved your request, you'll receive a confirmation email. Next steps:
In your portfolio, find the exercise request and click + Pay now
Transfer the funds to the nominated bank account
Sign the exercise notice
Once the company has confirmed receipt of funds, they will proceed with converting your options into shares. You'll then be able to see them in your portfolio.
