Merging Duplicate Stakeholders
If you have duplicate stakeholder records, for example, after a bulk cap table import, you can merge them into a single profile. The merge preserves all equity holdings, documents, and transaction history from both records.
This action is permanent. Once merged, the records cannot be separated.
When to use this
Use Merge Stakeholders to clean up duplicates created during bulk imports or cap table uploads. If the two records represent genuinely different people, do not merge them.
Merge duplicate stakeholders
Go to Engage → All.
Select the two duplicate contacts you want to merge (check the box next to each name).
Click Merge stakeholders in the actions bar that appears.
Review the merge preview, Cake will show which record will be kept as the primary and what data will be combined.
Confirm the merge.
The two records are combined into one. All equity holdings, documents, and transaction history from both records are preserved under the merged profile.
