Send Messages with Attachments

You can attach documents, images, PDFs, or spreadsheets to messages sent through Cake's Communications tool. Attachments must be added after saving your message as a draft.

Recipients can view messages and attachments by logging into My Cake (the stakeholder portal). They'll receive an email notification, but must access the platform to see the full content.

Before you start

You must save your message as a draft before you can attach files. Attachments cannot be added to a new, unsaved message.

Add attachments to a message

  1. Click Engage in the main menu.

  2. Go to Communications.

  3. Click New Message.

  4. Choose a template or start with a blank message.

  5. Add your subject line, recipients, and message content.

  6. Click Save as draft: this is required before attaching files.

  7. Click Attach files.

  8. Drag and drop files or select them from your desktop.

  9. Once your attachments are added, click Send.

Supported file types

You can attach documents, images, PDFs, and spreadsheets.

File storage: Attachments are automatically saved in Documents > Communications folder, organized by month and year (e.g., "01 2025").
