Update Authorized Shares
Authorized shares reflect the total number of shares your company is legally permitted to issue for a given share class. Update this number in Cake whenever your articles of incorporation are amended.
Update authorized shares
Go to Cap Table → Share classes.
Find the share class you want to update. If it doesn't exist yet, click Add share class to create it first.
Click Edit next to the share class.
Update the number in the Authorized shares field.
Click Save changes.
What happens next
The updated authorized share count appears on your cap table immediately. The figure is visible in your shareholder overview and in share class details.
Authorized shares in Cake are informational, they record what your legal documents permit. Cake does not prevent you from issuing shares beyond the authorized amount, so ensure your legal documents are updated before recording an increase.
