Why Can't I Downgrade to the Starter Plan?
If you can't select the Starter plan when attempting to downgrade, it's because your account is actively using features that are only available on the Growth plan, most commonly, incentive plans.
What blocks a Starter downgrade
The following features require Growth and must be removed before you can move to Starter:
Stock option plans (AU: ESOP), RSA plans, or RSU plans, including any grants issued
Any active or historical incentive plan data tied to your account

Option 1: Stay on Growth
Keep using all incentive plan features without limitations. Growth is designed for companies actively managing equity plans.
Option 2: Move to Starter
To downgrade:
Identify which Growth features you're using (check the full feature list at cakeequity.com/pricing).
Delete all incentive plan data from your account, this includes option pools, grants, and related records.
Once cleared, the Starter plan option will become available in the upgrade wizard.
Note: Deleting incentive plan data is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure you've exported any records you need before proceeding.
