Edit or Delete Share Classes
Update share class details or remove unused share classes from your cap table.
Edit a share class
Go to Cap Table → Share classes
Find the share class card you want to modify
Click Edit
Update the available fields — including share class name, symbol, type (Common/Preferred), par / nominal value, voting rights, dividend payouts, authorized shares, and Rights & Preferences terms (liquidation preference, pro-rata rights, anti-dilution type) for Preferred classes
Click Save changes
Note: Editing a share class updates the class name and symbol for all existing transactions linked to it.
Delete a share class
Go to Cap Table → Share classes
Find the share class card you want to remove
Click Delete
Confirm deletion
Note: You cannot delete a share class that has outstanding transactions. Delete those transactions first before removing the share class.
What happens next
When you edit a share class, all existing transactions using that class automatically reflect the updated information. This keeps your cap table consistent.
