When you issue a share certificate through Cake, the share certificate will show the total holdings for that shareholder. This means that it will combine the total holdings of the shareholder, even if those holdings were acquired over multiple issuances.
Where a shareholder has an existing share holding, and another share issue is made, we see customers:
Delete their existing share certificate from the Cake account - you can do this through the Documents tab -- All documents -- Share Certificates. Just click on the certificate you wish to delete and you'll see the trash ποΈ icon in the top right!
Issue the new share certificate through Cake, which shows the updated total holdings, and
Send a message to the relevant shareholder letting them know that the updated share certificate has been issued, and to delete any local versions of the old certificate.
The reason Cake uses 'holding' share certificates rather than individual transaction certificates, is our customers have let us know they prefer to see holdings in one certificate, rather than spread over potentially multiple documents!
