Once you have created your share certificate template the system can generate share certificates in a few seconds. If you haven't set up your template, make sure you do so before generating the certificates by following the instructions in this article!

The platform does not automatically email generated certificates to the investors, but it will add it to their investor portfolio, so when they log in next they can grab a copy! Or you can send them an announcement letting them know it has been uploaded 😎

Method 1: Issue in the Shares Tab

  1. Go to 'Cap table' in the main menu and click 'Shareholders' in the dropdown.

  2. On the shareholder that you wish to issue a share certificate for, click the certificate icon to the right.

  3. In the pop-up window, enter the 'share certificate number' and 'issue date' and click the 'Next' button.

  4. Ensure that the company signers are displayed correctly with their name and signature and update if necessary.

  5. Click Issue Certificate.

Method 2

  1. Go to 'Cap table' in the main menu and click 'Shareholders' in the dropdown.

  2. Click on the shareholder that you wish to issue a share certificate for and scroll down to the Transaction History. You should see a button labelled 'Issue Share Certificate' next to this.

  3. In the pop-up window, enter the 'share certificate number' and 'issue date' and click the 'Next' button.

  4. Ensure that the company signers are displayed correctly with their name and signature and update if necessary.

  5. Click Issue Certificate.

Method 3: Issuing Share Certificates in BULK

  1. Go to 'Cap table' in the main menu and click 'Shareholders' in the dropdown.

  2. Select the checkbox next to each of the shareholders that you wish to issue a share certificate for, click 'Actions' in the top right corner and select 'Issue Certificates' from the dropdown menu.

  3. In the pop-up window, enter the 'share certificate number' you wish to start from and 'issue date' and click the 'Next' button.

  4. Ensure that the company signers are displayed correctly with their name and signature and update if necessary.

  5. Click Issue Certificate.

Note for bulk issuing - the Certificate Preview will not show a true preview of your Share Certificates, just the Cake standard template. You can check out the issued certificates through Documents --> Share Certificates after you have finalised the process.

The system will now generate a share certificate, add it to the investors account and save it in the share certificate folder in the documents section. Keep an eye out for the pop up in the bottom left notifying you when it has finished issuing!
