Here are the steps on how to use Cake's Equity valuation calculator -

  1. Go to 'Portfolio' in your main menu and click 'View' to see your holdings.

  2. If you have other types of securities, locate the 'Options' tab in the top menu.

  3. To access the equity calculator, click 'Find out!' in the bottom left corner.

  4. In the pop-up, enter the percentage of your options you'd exercise and the company's potential future valuation. This will estimate the value of your options based on that figure.

  5. For more advanced calculations, toggle 'Advanced Mode' in the top right to add future investment rounds and the expected percentage of dilution.

The value on the left shows the current company valuation and the current value of your options. If this shows $0, it means the company hasn’t added their current valuation to Cake.

The value on the right shows the estimated future valuation (that you entered) and the estimated future value of your options based on that.
