Does Cake Integrate with ASIC?

Note: This applies to Australian companies only.

No, Cake does not automatically sync with ASIC. Changes you make in Cake (such as adding shareholders, updating details, or recording transactions) are not directly submitted to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.

Why Cake doesn't auto-sync

This is by design. Keeping Cake and ASIC submissions separate gives you:

  • Flexibility to review changes before they're final

  • Control over what gets submitted and when

  • Error prevention: you can catch and correct mistakes before lodging

  • Validation to ensure accuracy before anything is on the official record

What you need to do

Most changes to your share registry in Cake needs to be recorded with ASIC, such as a share transfer, allotment, or shareholder detail update, you'll need to lodge the relevant form with ASIC separately.

If you use a registered agent or company secretary, they can handle ASIC lodgements on your behalf.
