How to migrate from Pulley to Cake
How to migrate from Pulley to Cake
Pulley is shutting down on 8 December 2026. Moving to Cake is a managed migration, our Customer Success team handles the heavy lifting. You download your data from Pulley, send it to us, and we build your Cap Table in Cake within 48 hours.
Check out our Cake vs. Pulley comparison.
Your Pulley deadlines
8 December 2026. The Pulley app goes dark and support ends.
31 January 2027. Limited data access through the app ends.
What that means in practice:
Export your Cap Table now, not in November. The download takes a few seconds
Download your signed documents at the same time. Executed agreements, board consents and prior 409A reports are not in the Cap Table export. You cannot go back for them after 8 December.
Tell us your date. If your renewal lands earlier, or you have a board meeting to hit, say so our team is here to help.
We will build your Cap Table in Cake within 48 business hours, at no cost, and you review it before you pay. You can have Cake set up well before Pulley closes.
Before you start
Create your Cake account at app.cakeequity.com/setup_company and update your billing details.
Step 1: Export everything from Pulley
Download three files: your Cap Table (dashboard → Download) plus the Raw Captable and Vesting Details reports (Company → Reports). Download your signed documents at the same time - the full list is in How do I export my Cap Table from Pulley?.
Step 2: Upload your Cap Table and we build it
Upload the three files to the Documents tab in Cake and email hello@cakeequity.com to confirm. Our Customer Success team builds your Cap Table within 48 business hours.
Step 3: Review and go live
We schedule a Power Up call to walk you through your new account. You review everything before you pay.
Add your documents at any time
The Cap Table build only needs the three export files. Upload your signed documents (grant letters, SAFEs, board consents, 409A reports) to Documents → All documents at any stage - before, during or after the build. Just download them from Pulley before 8 December.
Common questions
What Transfer Agent details do I provide when closing my Pulley account?
See Do I need a transfer agent? for guidance.
Can I issue replacement certificates in Cake?
Yes, your securities aren't cancelled when migrating, instead, the 'certificates' that were previously issued in electronic form will need to be reissued. You can issue replacement Stock Certificates through Cake in minutes once the migration is complete through Cap Table → Outstanding shares.
