View the Current Value of your Options

Want to see what your stock options are currently worth? If your company has enabled option valuations and added their most recent company valuation, you can view your current option value in your Cake portfolio.

Looking for future projections instead? If you want to estimate what your options could be worth in the future, check out our guide on how to Estimate your option's future value using the equity calculator.

View your current option value

  1. Go to Portfolio in your main menu

  2. Click View to see your holdings

  3. Find the Options tab (this only appears if you have multiple types of securities)

  4. Review your estimated value - this shows what your options are worth based on the company's most recent valuation

Toggle between before and after exercise price

Your option value can be displayed in two ways:

  • Before exercise price - the gross value of your options

  • After exercise price - the net value after paying the exercise cost

Use the toggle switch next to "After exercise price" to switch between these views and see which calculation you prefer.

Why you might not see an option value

Your estimated option value will only appear if:

  • The company has enabled option valuations for employees

  • The company has added their most recent valuation to Cake

If you see $0 or no estimated value, it means either the company hasn't enabled this feature or they haven't added their current company valuation yet. Contact the company you work for directly to ask about enabling option valuations or for updates on the company valuation.

Understanding your option value

The estimated value shown is calculated using:

  • The company's most recent valuation (added by the company)

  • Your total number of granted options

  • Current share price (company valuation ÷ total securities)

  • Exercise price (if viewing "after exercise price")

Important note: This is an estimated value based on the company's most recent valuation and is for informational purposes only. Actual option value may vary. If you wish to discuss your option value, contact the company you work for directly.
