Estimate Your Option's Future Value

Want to see what your stock options could be worth in the future? Cake's built-in equity calculator helps you estimate the potential value of your options based on different company valuation scenarios.

Access the calculator

  1. Go to Portfolio in your main menu and click View to see your holdings

  2. Find the Options tab (this only appears if you have multiple types of securities)

  3. Click 'Find out!' in the top right corner (next to "How much could your equity be worth?") to access the equity calculator

Run your calculation

  1. Add the company's potential future valuation – this is your estimate of what the company might be worth

  2. Review your results – the calculator shows your estimated option value based on that future valuation. If your company has enabled current value display, you can compare this to your current option value shown in the chart at the top

Advanced calculations

For more detailed projections, toggle 'Advanced settings' on the left side of the calculator. This lets you factor in:

  • Future investment rounds

  • Average dilution

Understanding your results: The left side shows your current option value (based on the company's current valuation), while the right side shows your estimated future value based on the valuation you entered.

Note: If the current value shows $0, it means your company hasn't added their current valuation to Cake yet.
