To move your existing share registry into Cake, there are two options -

For Newly Signed Up

If you just signed up for your Cake account, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the 'Cap Table' tab in the main section and click 'Shareholders'

  2. Select the 'Add' dropdown

  3. Click 'Shareholders' and manually add your Shareholder Name, Email Address (optional), and Ownership or number of Shares.

4. Once you have filled out the fields, click 'Next' to save and issue the Shares. Please remove the blank fields by clicking the trash bin icon on the right side before clicking the 'Next' button.

If you have a large or complicated cap table, our team is more than happy to upload it for you. Click 'Send files to Cake' and upload your cap table in Excel format. We normally upload the cap table within 2 - 3 business days. The team will reach out to you once it's uploaded and ready to view.

For Existing User

If you have an existing Shareholder in your account and wish to add more Shareholders, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the 'Cap Table' tab in the main section and click 'Shareholders'

  2. Select the 'Add' dropdown

  3. Click 'Shareholders'

4. From the drop-down list search for shareholder name from your existing contacts or click 'Add new shareholder'. For new Shareholders, provide their details such as Shareholder type and Contact details

5. Fill out the Transaction details and click 'Issue shares' to finalise.

Bulk Upload

If you will be adding a large number of Shareholders, the bulk upload is the best way to do it.

  1. Go to the 'Cap Table' tab in the main section and click 'Shareholders'

  2. From 'Add shareholders', click 'Upload from spreadsheet'

  3. Select from the two options. (Import Existing File or Copy Paste)

4. If you wish to import existing files, you can download a copy of our template to follow the format and upload the csv file.

5. Click 'Next' to upload and review the details before issuing the shares .
