From the main menu, go to Ownership then Cap table.

You can issue shares from either the Overview tab or Shareholders.

  1. Click the 'Add' button (under your 'Top stakeholders' if on the Overview tab or in the top left corner if on the Shareholders tab) and select 'Shareholder' in the drop down.

  2. From the drop down, either select an existing contact or select 'Add new shareholder'.

  3. Select the 'Shareholder type" you would like to add. This refers to the legal owner of the shares. As an example, if a shareholder has a trust and he/she is the trustee then you would select 'Individual' from the dropdown. If there are two or more trustees then you would select 'Joint' from the dropdown. And finally if the trustee is a company, then you would select 'Company' from the dropdown. The same selections apply if there is no trust involved.

  4. Proceed with adding the transaction details.

    1. Select the Share type / Stock type you are issuing. If you want to add a new share type see ‘Add a new share type’.

    2. Issue date. Enter the date the shares are to be issued to the shareholder.

    3. Number of shares. This specifies the number of shares that the shareholder will be issued in this allotment.

    4. Investment amount. Enter the total amount paid in dollars and cents that the shareholder paid for the shares.

    5. Price per share. This amount is calculated automatically based on the number of shares issued and the total amount paid. Alternatively, you can enter the price per share for this allotment and the Investment amount will be calculated for you.

    6. Amount unpaid (optional). Add any amount that is unpaid on the shares at the time of issue.
