Add Trust Details When Accepting Options

If your company has enabled trust nominations, you can nominate an SPV (AU/NZ: bare trust) to hold your options when accepting your grant.

Note: This feature is available in Australia and New Zealand. In the US, the equivalent structure is an SPV, ask your company if this applies to your grant.

Add trust details to your offer

  1. Receive your stock option offer email and click View my Grant.

  2. Create your Cake account using the same email address the offer was sent to.

  3. Navigate to the Offers tab and click Review Offer.

  4. Click Enter details to start the acceptance process.

  5. Complete your personal information in the first section.

  6. Scroll down to Advanced details.

  7. Check the box for Held in trust?

  8. Complete the three additional fields that appear prior to signing the contract:

  • Trustee/SPV type: Individual/Company

  • Trust/SPV name: the name of the trust or SPV

  • Trustee/Contact name: the trustee or SPV contact

  • Trustee/Contact email: their email address

After nominating a trust

Your grant will be issued in the name of the trust or SPV rather than your personal name. The documents will reflect this in your Documents section once the company has confirmed the grant.
