Invite Stakeholders to My Cake Portal

My Cake is a separate portal where your investors and employees can view their equity holdings, sign documents, check valuations, and manage their portfolio details. You invite stakeholders to their portal from within your Cake admin account.

Before you start

  • The stakeholder must already exist in your Cake account (either added manually or through a cap table import).

  • Investors and employees access My Cake with their own login, separate from your company admin account.

  • Check the status next to their name — Active user means they've already set up and accessed their account.

Invite a stakeholder

  1. Go to Engage → All or navigate to the relevant security in Cap Table and find the stakeholder.

  2. Check the box next to their name to select (you can select multiple).

  3. Click Invite.

  4. Confirm the email address the invitation will be sent to.

  5. Click Send invitation.

The stakeholder will receive an email inviting them to set up their My Cake account. Once they've signed up, they can log in at any time to view their holdings.

Invite all stakeholders

  1. Go to Engage → All or navigate to the relevant security in Cap Table

  2. Click + Invite to My Cake at the top of the page.

  3. Click Send invitation.

Invitations expire after 60 days

An invitation stays active for 60 days. If the stakeholder doesn't sign up and complete their registration in that time, their status reverts to Not Invited.

To give them access again, re-invite them using the steps above. This sends a fresh invitation email and restarts the 60-day window.

What stakeholders can see and do in My Cake

  • View their current equity holdings and share certificates

  • Sign documents and agreements sent by your company

  • View the current value of their shares or options (if enabled)

  • Download holding statements

  • Update their contact details

Trouble shooting

Stakeholders receive their My Cake invitation from no-reply@mail.cakeequity.com. If they can't find the email, ask them to:

  • Check their Spam or Junk folder.

  • Ask their IT team to whitelist no-reply@mail.cakeequity.com if their organisation has strict email filtering.

If a stakeholder hasn't accepted their invitation, you can resend it at any time using the same steps above. If someone you've previously invited is showing as Not Invited, their invitation has likely expired — see Invitations expire after 60 days above.
