Managing Estimated Value for Stakeholders
Help your stakeholders understand what their equity could be worth by enabling estimated valuations based on your company's most recent funding round.
How estimated value is calculated: Cake uses your most recent valuation (from Ownership → Valuations) divided by total securities on issue to calculate current share price. This price is multiplied by each stakeholder's total granted options or shares to show estimated value. You can verify the price per share being used in Ownership → Cap Table.
For option holders: The portal shows estimated value both before and after exercise costs. Option holders can toggle between viewing estimated value before and after paying the exercise price.
To update your company valuation:
Go to Ownership from the main menu
Select Valuations from the dropdown
Click + Add valuation in the top right
Enter the post-money valuation, date, and funding round
Click Save
Control visibility settings: You can toggle estimated value visibility for employees and shareholders separately using the Valuations visibility settings in Ownership → Valuations.
Important: This feature shows estimates only. Actual value depends on company performance, market conditions, and exit scenarios. Stakeholders should understand this is not a guarantee of future value.
