What's included in Cake's free plan?
Cake's free plan covers up to five stakeholders. For those five you get the real product, not a cut-down version of it.
With five stakeholders or fewer
Add your founders and early shareholders
Set up your share classes
Record SAFEs and convertible notes
Create an incentive plan and draft option grants
Issue equity and invite stakeholders to their own portal, so they can see what they hold
Model a round and see how it dilutes
It's your real company data in your own account, and it stays there.
With more than five stakeholders
You can still bring your whole Cap Table across and view every part of it for free - stakeholders, share classes, vesting, option grants, the lot.
What you can't do above five stakeholders is run actions. Issuing equity, inviting stakeholders, converting SAFEs and modelling a round all need a paid plan. Above five, the free plan is read-only.
Migration is free either way
Whether you end up paying or not, getting your Cap Table into Cake costs nothing. Upload it yourself with our bulk importers, or hand over your existing reports and our Customer Success team builds it for you, typically within 48 business hours.
Moving to a paid plan
Click Upgrade at the top of any page, choose your billing frequency and plan, and confirm. Everything you set up on the free plan is still there afterwards.
