Bulk Upload SAFEs, Convertibles & Custom Notes
Upload SAFEs, convertible notes, and custom notes using the relevant tabs in Cake's bulk upload template. Each note type has its own tab, upload them as separate CSV files.
Enter your note data
Use the SAFEs, Convertibles, or Custom notes tab depending on the instrument type. Enter one row per note:
Investor name and email
Investment amount and issue date
Valuation cap, discount rate, interest rate, maturity date (as applicable to each note type)
If the note has already converted to shares: Include the conversion details in the same row, Cake automatically creates the corresponding share issuance during upload. You don't need to record it separately in the Shares tab.
If the note has been cancelled or repaid: Include the cancellation details (type and date) in the same row.
If you're issuing a SAFE or Convertible to a stakeholder who already exists in Cake, their name must match exactly what is already in Cake to ensure it adds the new transaction to their existing profile. Any mismatch creates a duplicate record.
Upload each tab
Go to the relevant tab in Google Sheets (SAFEs, Convertibles, or Custom notes).
Click File → Download → CSV.
In Cake, go to Cap Table and select the relevant tab (SAFEs, Convertibles, or Custom notes).
Click the Bulk upload option.
Drag your CSV into the pop-up window and click Next.
Review and validate, then click Import.
Repeat for each note type.
